COVID-19
To All of Our Amazing Patient Families:
Hello everyone. We hope that you are all doing well and managing these crazy times. As you may already be aware, two weeks ago we received notice from the California Dental Association that all dentist in California were to discontinue all elective, non-emergency procedures including dental cleanings and exams for at least two weeks in an effort to reduce the spread of Covid-19 and to preserve personal protective equipment (PPE) such as masks for those who are fighting the pandemic on the front lines in hospitals. We are very anxious to get back to work doing that which we do best, giving kids the best darn experience they can possibly have at the dentist. We miss seeing your smiling faces and interacting with all of our awesome patients. While we really want to get back to work and have life get back to normal, we have never seen circumstances like these. Our guidance from the CDA, ADA, and AAPD has recently been updated to see only emergency patients and to defer all elective, non-emergency procedures, until further notice.
This has been a very difficult situation for us to wrap our minds around. We, of course, have always felt that all of the procedures we perform are critically important to the well being of our patients and society. From cleanings and exams to fillings, crowns, and extractions, it all has a big impact on the health and well being of our patients and our society as a whole. But in this current situation of a new virus, that seems somehow much more contagious and deadly than other illnesses that we deal with, we want to do our part to help heal the world from this pandemic as quickly as possible. We know that many of you have dental treatment that needs to get done and we realize that this is likely just as frustrating for you as it is for us.
While we are currently closed for cleanings, check-ups, and other “elective” procedures we are still available by telephone if you have questions, concerns, or a dental emergency. Dental emergencies include severe pain, swelling, abscess, fractured or dislocated teeth, among other things. We will triage emergencies by telephone and will schedule you in for emergency treatment if needed. Please do not hesitate to call the office at (559) 554-9999 if you need anything.
We can’t wait to get back to work and see all of you! We’ll keep you updated as things develop and will give you a heads up as soon as we get word that we are able to open for regular business again. We look forward to getting back to serving our community by providing the best dental care available to the kids in town!
With warmest regards,
