Dr. Mariam Shaker began her journey as a dentist at the University of Alabama of Birmingham School of Dentistry in July of 2011, obtaining her Doctorate of Dental Medicine by May of 2015. After graduation, she attended a postdoctoral AEGD residency program at the Birmingham VA Medical Center treating challenging cases involving comprehensive full-mouth rehabilitations, esthetic and implant dentistry, and oral maxillofacial surgery.

Dr. Shaker has a special interest in treating infants, children, adolescents, and those with special needs with oral health needs which led her to pursue pediatric dentistry. She enjoys interacting with children providing evidence based preventive and restorative oral care and giving them a positive experience at their dental home.

Outside of the office, Dr. Shaker and her husband enjoy traveling, church activities, and most importantly, spending quality time with their two children and family and friends.
